Northumberland OPP responded to the collision on County Road 45 and Concession 9 West south of Hastings around 4:40 p.m.
Police say an ambulance was making a three-point turn when the southbound dump truck took evasive action to avoid a collision.
However, it strong the front passenger side of the ambulance, sending the truck into a ditch.
There were no patients aboard the ambulance at the time.
