UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned Monday that commitments from the majority of countries on limiting greenhouse gas emissions would result in an increase of 16 per cent, rather than a decrease of 45 per cent by 2030. He warned that unless countries “collectively change course,” the upcoming UN climate summit, COP26, would be at high risk of failure.
