Canada’s chief public health officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, said on Thursday that recent data for the month of August showed that hospitalizations among unvaccinated people were 39 times higher than among those who got their shots, pleading for people to get vaccinated. Nearly 7 million eligible people are still not fully vaccinated in the country.
