U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken declined to comment on specific reports about a new Taliban-led government on Friday, but said the U.S. “has an expectation” that a new Afghanistan government will include non-Taliban representatives from different communities and interests in the country. He also said they will be watching the new Afghan government closely to ensure it “makes good on commitments the Taliban have made.”
