Chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam highlighted on Friday the importance of increasing COVID-19 vaccine rates in younger age groups, stating they have the highest infection rates and are the most socially active. “There is still a window of opportunity to reduce the rate of epidemic growth and get on a better trajectory by increasing vaccine uptake among adults aged 18 to 39 years,” she told reporters.
