World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday that data regarding the possible benefits and safety of a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot are still inconclusive. The WHO has also previously stated that current data does not indicate booster shots are needed, and that the most vulnerable people worldwide should be fully vaccinated before high-income countries deploy a top-up.
