B.C. health minister says majority of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations are unvaccinated

B.C. Health Minister Adrian Dix said that in mid-August, the COVID-19 case rate was 10 times higher in those unvaccinated than compared to vaccinated, and only eight per cent of those in hospital are those who are fully vaccinated. He stressed being unvaccinated puts the person, their family and the community at risk. He also advised it was unlikely the province would be moving into the next step of reopening by the earliest date of Sept. 7 in part due to the increase in COVID-19 cases.
