Canada election: Singh says he would appoint special prosecutor to get justice for unmarked graves at former residential schools

Making a stop in Cowessess Frist Nation on Friday, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said he would appoint a special prosecutor to get justice following the discovery of unmarked graves at the sites of former residential schools. “This is a crime committed against Indigenous people. This is a crime of genocide,” Singh said adding ” we would appoint a special prosecutor and make sure it’s prosecuted.”
