Ontario Deputy Premier Christine Elliott announced on Wednesday that the province would be allocating $216 million in funding to help address a surgical backlog that was created by a shift in resources during to the COVID-19 pandemic. When asked how long it would take to clear, Elliott says they don’t have a clear timeline given that some people coming forward may not have been diagnosed as of yet.
