A bi-partisan bill was introduced in the House of Representatives Tuesday in an effort to help those individuals under mandatory conservatorships petition courts to replace their private guardian or conservator. The “Freedom and Right to Emancipate from Exploitation Act” also called the “Free Britney Act” is co-sponsored by Democratic representative Charlie Crist and Republican representative Nancy Mace. The bill follows the recent allegations of abuse by pop singer Britney Spears in her conservatorship.
