While discussing the economy on Monday, U.S. President Joe Biden commented that “the stock market is higher than its been in all of history, it even went down this month. Now I don’t look at the stock market as a means by which to judge the economy like my predecessor.” Later in the day, asked about the markets suffering big losses Monday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said “we are still at war with the virus” as many have connected economic losses to the COVID-19 Delta variant.
