Steve Sxwithul’txw talks about what it was like being in the Kuper “Alcatraz” Island residential school

Penelakut Island, formerly known as Kuper Island, is the site of at least 160 graves and of a former residential school run by the Catholic Church until 1969. The government shut the school down six years later.
