Ontario Premier Doug Ford spoke during the funeral for Toronto police officer Const. Jeff Northrup, who was killed in line of duty, saying on behalf of all Ontarians that they will be “in debt” to his service and that he was “one of the best amongst us.” He also said on behalf of Ontario residents, he wanted to recognize “the unimaginable loss, the unthinkable sacrifice that your family had to endure.”
