‘Heartbreaking’: With municipal teardown imminent, volunteers dismantle 2 tiny Halifax shelters

As the Halifax Regional Municipality starts tearing down temporary shelters set up in local parks, a group of volunteers has decided to make the first move on two of them in order to preserve the materials. As Elizabeth McSheffrey reports, Halifax Mutual Aid dismantled two shelters at Fort Needham Memorial Park on Saturday, after confirming their occupants had alternative arrangements.
