Speaking to the media and the public on Wednesday, Haiti’s ambassador to the United States Bocchit Edmond said the country’s first lady Martine Moïse was in hospital in stable but critical condition after an assassination attempt overnight Wednesday at their home which left President Jovenel Moïse dead and efforts were being made to take her for treatment in Miami, Fla.. He was asked the question due to conflicting reports on her status, but said “thankfully she’s alive, she’s not dying.”
