Japan’s top coronavirus health adviser Shigeru Omi said on Wednesday it was important to reduce the number of Olympic officials and others attending events as much as possible to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to carry out countermeasures “with a sense of urgency.” The summer games are expected to start on July 23.
