Miami-Dade County mayor says she’s authorized demolition of Surfside building, but not happening yet

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said Friday she had signed an emergency order authorizing the demolition of the building which partially collapsed in Surfside, Fla. last week. She said it would not be demolished until engineers sign off on next steps and said they are still determining the best timeline to begin the demolition.
