Trudeau says Canadians ‘must be honest’ about country’s history in Canada Day message

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in his Canada Day message Wednesday, spoke about the recent discoveries of unmarked graves found at and near former residential schools in B.C. and Saskatchewan in the past month. Trudeau said Canadians “must be honest with ourselves” about the country’s history, saying the country has a “long way to go to make things right” with Indigenous peoples.
