The Executive Director of First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada, Cindy Blackstock, told the West Block’s Mercedes Stephenson that there are more children in the care of the state today than there was during the residential school era. “And now as Canadians are kind of awakening to this, what we really need to do is call Canadians to the current injustices. This is our watch,” Blackstock said.
