Russia said one of its warships fired warning shots and a warplane dropped bombs in the path of British destroyer Defender on Wednesday to drive it away from waters near the Crimean city of Sevastopol. Speaking to the media on Thursday, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the UK does not recognize Russia’s annexation of the Crimea, and claiming the UK vessel was simply taking the most direct sailing route between two points.
