The nine Catalan separatist leaders, who were pardoned by Spain on Tuesday, walked out of jail on Wednesday and greeted dozens of supporters who waited outside. The leaders had been sentenced by Spain’s supreme court in 2019 for their role in a 2017 failed bid for the region’s independence.
