Both Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh questioned Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday over the release of a scathing military ombudsman’s report amid allegations of high-level sexual misconduct in the Canadian Armed Forces. Military Ombudsman Gregory Lick said earlier Tuesday that “vested political interests” complicate the office’s work and suggested his office be independent of the Department of National Defence.
