Floods from heavy rains in several eastern Indian states forced residents out of their homes as whole streets and residential areas were submerged in rain water on Monday. Footage from the eastern state of Bihar showed an overflowing Ganges river and, in West Bengal, water flooded homes and people were wading through waist-high flood water while others used boats to commute.
