The Canadian federal government has responded to Call to Action 17 of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which will allow residential school survivors and their families to reclaim their names on passports and other government documents. Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Marco Mendicino and Minister of Indigenous Services Marc Miller made the announcement on Monday morning.
