Victoria cancels Canada Day celebration

Shaken by the discovery of unmarked children’s graves at the former Kamloops Residential School, Victoria City Council decided unanimously to cancel Canada Day celebrations in 2021. Instead, the city is planning to host a broadcast later this summer guided by the Lekwungen people and featuring local artists, that explores what it means to be Canadian. Kylie Stanton has more.
