U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Thursday the country is purchasing and donating 500 million doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines to low- and lower-middle-income countries, with “no strings attached.” Biden added 200 million doses will be delivered this year, and 300 million will be delivered in the first half of 2022.
