Vernon’s top cop hoping for changes to mental health call response

Nationally police wellness checks that have ended in violence have spurred calls for reforms to the way emergency mental health calls are handled. Now the head of an Okanagan police detachment says police would also like to see changes. Vernon’s top cop says the RCMP is meeting with the health authority to talk about improvements.
