It was a major stress relief for many West Island commuters Friday, when the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge partially reopened to traffic. One lane is available in each direction and the reopening of the span arrives three days ahead of schedule. But as Global’s Tim Sargeant reports, many argue that the reopening of the bridge doesn’t deter from the pressing need to replace it.
