Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Friday the government is building a countrywide early learning and childcare system – a plan that aims to cut fees in half by the end of 2022 and in five years, reach an average of $10 a day of care across the country. Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland added that investing in early learning and childcare is “social infrastructure,” which is a driver in jobs and growth of the economy.
