U.S. President Joe Biden announced Friday that he had named career diplomat Sung Kim as the country’s special envoy to North Korea, officially known as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. He added he and South Korean President Moon Jae-in were “deeply concerned” about North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs.
