Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Wednesday an independent public inquiry into the U.K.’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. “The state has an obligation to examine its actions as rigorously and as candidly as possible,” he said, adding that “this process will place the state’s actions under the microscope.”
