The National Bank of Canada at 423 George St. N. and TD Bank in Peterborough Square will shut down in July and October respectively.

The banks cite one of the reasons for closing is that more people have turned to online banking for their financial needs.

The move follows the closures of other banks in some of Peterborough’s smaller surrounding communities in recent years- including those in Apsley, and Millbrook.
