Fauci says U.S. ‘very likely’ undercounting COVID-19 deaths after report shows higher total

The U.S. top infectious diseases expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday that it was “very likely” the country had been undercounting deaths from COVID-19 after a new report from the University of Washington estimated the actual death toll was nearly double, at more than 900,000.
