Pope Francis on Sunday called for an end to violence in Jerusalem, after clashes erupted Saturday between Palestinian protesters and Israeli police as tens of thousands of Muslim worshippers prayed at Al-Aqsa Mosque on Islam’s holy night of Laylat al-Qadr. Francis also prayed for the victims of an explosion near a school in the western part of the Afghan capital Kabul, and expressed concern for protests occurring in Colombia.
