World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced on Friday that the organization gave emergency use listing for Sinopharm’s COVID-19 vaccine, making it the 6th vaccine to receive the organization’s validation for “safety, efficacy, and quality.” Ghebreyesus also said that the Strategically Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) recommended the Chinese state-owned drugmaker’s vaccine for adults 18+ with a two-dose regimen.
