‘This is what we feared,’ Ontario’s top doctor says of 13-year-old’s death

Ontario’s chief medical officer of health Dr. David Williams offered his condolences Monday to the family of Emily Viegas, a 13-year-old Brampton girl who recently died after testing positive for coronavirus. “This is what we feared,” Williams said, adding that the coronavirus variants pose an increased risk to younger people during the third wave of the pandemic.
