A group of 49 migrants were rescued on Sunday after travelling on a canoe-shaped open vessel, known as a cayuco, roughly 11 km south off Gran Canaria in Spain. The rescued migrants disembarked at Arguineguin’s port with the help of the Spanish coast guard. One of the rescued migrants was transferred to hospital to receive medical treatment.
