1 person taken to hospital after pickup crashes on Stewart Line west of Peterborough

One person was taken to hospital following a single vehicle crash west of Peterborough this afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Stewart Line, near Davis Drive around 12:15 p.m. for a pickup truck in the ditch.

A number of witnesses came to the driver’s aid and reportedly provided CPR before paramedics and firefighters arrived.

Stewart Line west of Highway 7 was closed during the investigation.

An Ornge air ambulance responded to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre for transport but a spokesperson says they did not end up transporting anyone from the crash.

On Monday afternoon, the Peterborough Police Service says the collision was the result of a medical episode. The 48-year-old male driver was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
