U.S. President Joe Biden on Friday, during a joint press conference alongside Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, called gun violence and mass shootings in cities across America a “national embarrassment.” He said he would not give up until legislation instituting universal background checks and banning assault weapons is passed.
