‘I am scared to go to Cardston again’: Indigenous woman alleges racism at southern Alberta hospital

Marissa Smoke, an Indigenous woman from Lethbridge, recorded an encounter in late March at the Cardston Health Centre and believes she was racially profiled. As Eloise Therien explains, she feels traumatized after medical staff yelled at her and told her she shouldn’t leave.
