Former NFL player kills 5, then himself in South Carolina

The gunman who purportedly killed five people including a prominent doctor in South Carolina was former NFL player Phillip Adams, who died by suicide early Thursday. Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70, and his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69, were pronounced dead at the scene along with grandchildren Adah Lesslie, 9, and Noah Lesslie, 5, the York County coroner’s office said. York County Sheriff, Kevin Tolson read a statement by the family on Thursday that in part said “our hearts are bent towards forgiveness and peace.”
