Dr. Darren Markland addresses Alberta’s P.1 variant outbreak

Although Alberta Health has not disclosed any details, the chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw tweeted Saturday that the province is investigating a significant COVID-19 outbreak in the province relating to the P.1 variant. Kim Smith spoke with Dr. Darren Markland, an intensive care physician at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, about the concerns surrounding the variant first discovered in Brazil.
