Acting chief of the United States Capitol Police Yogananda Pittman said Friday that a Capitol police officer died from their injuries after a vehicle rammed the North Barricade checkpoint on Constitution Avenue on Friday afternoon. A suspect who exited the vehicle lunged at officers with a knife before being shot and killed, Pittman said.
