The mother of a 13-year-old boy who died on Saturday during the deadliest day of Myanmar’s military crackdown mourned for her son during his funeral on Sunday in Yangon. Barricades had been set up Saturday in an area where the boy was playing in a back street. Residents said troops opened fire, although there were no protests, and the boy was shot and killed.
