It’s been a tough year for shelters everywhere. The ongoing pandemic has created a greater need for shelter space and resources, but it’s also barred many of these organizations from holding the large-scale events they typically rely on for fundraising. But one event in Peterborough is going ahead-Stand With Tim is an annual fundraiser for the Youth Emergency Shelter, led by Peterborough Police Deputy Chief Tim Farquharson. He’ll be out on the streets until 2 a.m. Friday night. He spoke with Global News Morning Peterborough’s Noor Ibrahim about the event, and the current state of the city’s only youth shelter.
