During a news conference on Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said though he condemns the violence, he opposes gun legislation passed by the House, following two mass shootings in less than a week. McConnell said he is open to addressing gun violence, but acknowledged the deep divide between Republicans and Democrats, and argued that it’s a “vexing problem that is extremely hard to identify in advance.”
