Conservative Party Leader Erin O’Toole on Friday pledged that, if elected, his party would restore one million jobs lost to the COVID-19 pandemic within one year as part of the “Canada’s Recovery Plan” pitch to voters. Along with the job restoration, O’Toole said they would tackle other weaknesses the pandemic exposed, including increasing mental health funding and beefing up domestic production of pharmaceuticals and vaccines.
