World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Friday that its vaccine safety panel concluded that data from AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 shot does not point to any overall increase in blood clotting conditions. “The committee has recommended that the AstraZeneca vaccine’s benefits outweigh its risks with tremendous potential for preventing infections and deaths from COVID-19,” he stated.
