Toronto’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Eileen de Villa said on Monday that 3,516 COVID-19 cases have screened positive for virus mutations since early February, and that “we should all be concerned by what we’re seeing” both in Toronto and internationally. “The pandemic is not over,” she said, adding that variants are triggering third waves in Europe.
