The owner of a 140-year-old home in Montreal’s Sud-Ouest is seeking a demolition permit. The Galt street home is one of many similar style homes that were popular in the late 1800s. As Global’s Dan Spector explains, some people in the area feel allowing the demolition of this home will make way for more demolition and the construction of “McMansions” and condos in this working-class neighborhood.
